Representatives of Scotland’s secular and humanist societies offer a united statement against the recent attacks.

Dignity, safety, compassion and love for one another must be at the forefront of our minds today. Together, as representatives of Scotland’s secular and humanist communities, we condemn the attacks in London. We condemn the destruction and fear these attacks bring us. And we condemn the hatred that surrounds these attacks.

The betterment of our lives hinges upon supporting our neighbours, living peacefully, and respecting one another. We will continue to work together to emphasise and reinforce these shared values in our society. Together, we can work toward bringing an end to the types of atrocities experienced in London, and elsewhere throughout the world.
